It is always a special treat to be involved in a wedding of a former employee of the resort! Groom, Sean, was a long-time Sommelier of Canyon’s farm-to-table, fine dining restaurant — The Farm. Needless to say, he knows a thing or two about good food & wine. The Canyons’ F&B staff were excited to bring that love through in the reception dining experience. You could feel the buzz about the resort that day of familiar smiling faces & happy staff preparing for the wedding of “one of their own”.
The ceremony took place at Lookout Cabin on mountain-top, then continued at the base where dinner was served outside under bistro lights at the Umbrella Bar. Just because a chairlift ride was necessary to get to the ceremony, doesn’t mean the couple’s loyal companions had to miss out on the occasion! Their dogs, along with family escorts, were brought up the mountain in ski patrol vehicles and proudly joined their parents down the aisle. As if on-cue, the golden retriever kept howling at appropriate parts of the ceremony. Adorable. The corsage & boutonniere we made for this duo is towards the top of my ‘favorite’s list’ as well :).
Marissa is a designer by profession and her impeccable taste shone through in all the details. Their colors were soft & romantic, while also wild & organic. With Sean as a Sommelier, we incorporated wine corks and wine barrels throughout the decor making for a fitting touch. We used wood farmhouse tables to fit their Rustic Elegance theme, and had custom-made grey flower boxes for the centerpieces. It all came together with such gorgeous style & class.
And let me tell you — This was one FUN party that continued long into the night… Eventually finishing the festivities at The Farm restaurant with former co-workers & good friends. Another beautiful summer wedding.
