Another one of our favorite weddings from this summer at Lookout Cabin was Kara & Jake’s. These two have a love story from the movies. They became a couple for the FIRST time in middle school and had the most adorable picture on display to prove it – Each rocking that 90’s cool-kid style, including a puka shell necklace and gel pens in hand. To have been reunited later in life and fall in love (again), was magical to see. The toasts made by their closest friends & family who have watched their relationship grow over the years was so touching there wasn’t a dry eye in the room, wedding planner included!
Their style was earthy, rustic & romantic – Which we accomplished by using natural shades of ivory & green. The decor was accented with burlap, succulents & curly willow. Their floral centerpieces were wrapped in aspen bark, with aspen tree votives lining either side and wooden table numbers to boot. Oh! And let’s not forget the garland wrapped arbor! We’re so in love with how it all came together & reflected their individual style. Another cute touch was their ‘wishing stones’ in place of a guest book. Guests wrote a personal well wish to the couple on a river rock and then placed the stone in a moss-lined vase which they now have displayed in their home as a memory of the day.
About half way through the evening, the groom surprised his groomsmen with matching Nike sneakers & neon socks to kick-off the dance party. Needless to say, it was a hit!
The night concluded with an outdoor dance party under the bistro lights & an enthusiastic send-off of the couple onto the Orange Bubble chairlift. An unforgettable night indeed. Thanks for letting us be apart of your special day, Kara & Jake!
