Becky & Alex | April 2015| Log Haven

This wedding was extra special for so many reasons. How incredibly awesome to be able to plan my own SISTER’s wedding! To be fair, there were challenges in trying to balance the focus of planning versus being involved in the festivities, but truly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I know I would have missed being involved in the decor & planning details if I abstained from doing so. Not to mention, I felt so glad to be able to provide her with my knowledge and resources… And seeing how happy they both were made it so worth it in the end.

Travel was definitely their theme. The place cards were packaged in luggage tags with their slogan “The Adventure Begins” imprinted on the back. The tables were assigned by a coordinating country that the couple had traveled to together, each set with a photo of them in the destination. Too cute! The little gold animals also made an appearance everywhere and were a fun ‘Becky’ touch that she provided (she spray painted all the animals herself!). Her jewel-toned color scheme fit well with the fun, travel-themed energy.
They opted for a luncheon affair instead of an evening soiree to save on costs, and it allowed us to still party into the wee hours of the night… Main Street afterwards was a riot! One of my favorite memories of the night was playing giant Jenga with Becky at the bar while she was still wearing her wedding dress. Definitely a sight to see! We then went to Cisero’s and requested a first dance for them since they hadn’t had one at the luncheon. The DJ hemmed and hawed about it but finally agreed (he said no one else would want a slow song). Finally, Becky and Alex had a brief but special moment just the two of them on the floor, and were then joined by about 15 other couples. It was so fun & romantic! A day & night that none of us will forget.
