Lindsay & Matthew | October 2015 | The Montage

A blog from the bride – Hello friends! Kasey asked that I share my experience from a bride’s perspective.  Let me first introduce myself; My name is Lindsay, formerly Clarke / presently Aucunas, and I work as an Event Designer & Planner for Harvest Moon Events. What an eye-opener to finally walk in the shoes of ‘bride’! I feel so incredibly fortunate to have had the support of such a great team while dealing with the angst and excitement of planning my own wedding… I still get goosebumps just thinking about it.

We’re calling our wedding style “Vintage Vagabond” 🙂 … in other words, earthy & wild with retro undertones. Our colors were a mix greenery & blush, with rich accents of burgundy & dark blue. We wanted the decor to feel organic, while also bold & fun. HME truly couldn’t have done a better job of bringing the vision to life and I cannot wait to share the rest of these images with you. Is it acceptable to do a quick shout out to the bouquets?!? Holy smokes! Exceeded my wildest dreams… I am inspired by these talented people everyday.
For the ceremony, we chose a circular style seating to create a more intimate setting with there being 170 guests in attendance. And let me tell you – The feeling of having all our closest friends & family surrounding us during the ceremony was the absolute best. Important to us as well was showcasing the natural beauty of Park City, where we met & fell in love. A few fun ways we incorporated this; the flower girls tossed leaves in place of petals, our arbor was made from fallen wood out of the Uinta National Forest, and we gave wood-burned ‘Park City, UT’ coasters as wedding favors. Velvet dark blue linens, lots of candlelight & loose flowy greenery helped set the mood for reception + The hanging greens over the head table made for a stunning, yet simple, statement piece that brought the whole room together.
In place of a cake, the Montage culinary team made us an array of delicious pies which we elevated on wood stumps & slices. Almost too beautiful to eat!
One of our favorite ‘take aways’ from the wedding day was having our guests write us a ‘Bucket List’ in place of a guest book – The results were absolutely hysterical & over-the-top. A list that will keep us highly entertained for the rest of our lives… Cannot wait to start checking it off!
Matt and I are SO grateful to all the amazing people in our lives that helped us pull off this celebration. The Montage & HME team took care of everything so that we could be fully present and savor every moment. Still living in the afterglow of this incredible day. It was perfect.
